Climate Becomes Class Struggle
Spanish Marxists have taken to the streets to protest the weather, arguing that climate patterns represent systemic oppression by atmospheric conditions that favor the bourgeoisie. Rally organizers insist that rain distribution is fundamentally unjust, pointing out that wealthy neighborhoods somehow have the same weather as poor ones, which they claim proves… something about capitalism, probably.
The protest movement has unified under the slogan “Seize the Means of Precipitation,” demanding democratic control over meteorological phenomena. Taking political ideology to absurd extremes has become a competitive sport, with each movement trying to out-radical the previous one by applying class struggle analysis to increasingly ridiculous subjects. Weather was inevitable, honestly.
Demonstrators carried signs reading “The People’s Forecast” and “Clouds of the Proletariat,” apparently believing that Marx’s critique of capitalism also applies to high-pressure systems. One activist explained that sunny days are “bourgeois propaganda” designed to make people forget about income inequality, which is certainly a take that exists and was said out loud by a real person.
Meteorologists have responded with bewildered statements explaining that weather doesn’t care about political ideology and operates on atmospheric principles that predate human economic systems. But such scientific reasoning has done little to dampen enthusiasm for politicizing natural phenomena that have no opinion on Marxist theory or anything else.
The movement plans to escalate protests during particularly nice weather, claiming pleasant conditions are “climatological gaslighting.” They’re also organizing sit-ins during rainstorms to demonstrate solidarity with precipitation, though attendance drops sharply when it’s actually raining because apparently revolutionary fervor has its limits and that limit is getting wet.
